Delectable Nostalgia!
In the early 90s, Vizag didn’t have the airs of a plush metropolis. One could say it was ‘A quaint town’ like city. Vast in land area and blessed with a natural harbour, it was burgeoning as an industrial hub. A majority of its populace being middle class, ‘The city of destiny’ always exuded an eloquence of simplicity.

Humble Beginnings
9.15 AM, 9 July,1991 was our moment of truth. A small shop in a bylane, not really for a sense of exclusivity, but rather a paucity of resources. The unique aspect was – ‘Tradition’. Sweets. fried snacks, pickles, spices, recipes of which had been passed down for generations were gradually falling into a ‘bygone days’ narrative. Preparation was a ‘time labour patience’ intensive ordeal that only grandmothers could endure. ‘Classic Andhra sweets and snacks’ is the priceless inheritance that we preserved on our shelves.
Onwards
As someone said, “Vizag is India in a microcosm”. A melange of cultures gives it an exquisite charm. To keep up with the progressive culture, the boundaries of the foodscape are constantly widening. So along our journey, ‘Mithai’ native to other parts of India like Rasgolla (roshogolla), Agra peta, Ghevar and several others have joined the clan. Nuts and dry fruits are the crowning glory of Indian sweets. Hence Kaju Katli, Badam Burfi and other nutty treats complete the spectrum.
